Fairfield University - Dolan Hall

Fairfield, Connecticut

Dolan Hall is a 1960 cast-in place concrete structure stone building renovated into a new student suite style residence dormitory consisting of 23 suites for 167 students. This building also includes space for Campus Health and Counseling Services, facility management, main IT Data Center and College of Design classrooms, all of which remained occupied during construction. Modern Mechanical Systems was the prime HVAC contractor for this project. The HVAC system included the installation of two new boilers, a 200-ton chiller, pumps, 88 apartment fan coils, air-to-air energy recovery units, laundry exhaust and make-up air systems and over 12,000 ft. of pipe. This building also included full DDC controls with a dashboard so students and faculty can monitor the HVAC system and total building energy consumption.
